Toby is an Assistant Head at Mead Vale Primary School and currently leads Maths, ICT, Assessment and Key Stage 2; he has also been an E-Safety Champion for North Somerset LA. He has taught in a number of different primary school settings in Bristol and North Somerset and worked as an ICT Consultant for RM Education across the UK and Europe.

He motivated by a passionate desire to see the highly effective use of ICT to develop children and teachers and to raise standards in education. He has formed and supported partnerships between organisations – both educational and commercial to support high outcomes and quality experiences. Toby has a clear vision of how technology can be used to invigorate learning for children across the primary curriculum. He believes that teachers and schools are critically important in the training and support of the safe use of communication technology.

He believes that a systems led approaches accelerates the progress and achievement of all children. In all posts that he has held, he has had a strong impact in raising teachers knowledge, skills and use of ICT and assessment approaches so that lessons can be exciting and engaging. Toby has also developed a bespoke assessment system that has resulted in effective tracking and ease of analysis of pupil progress. He relishes opportunities to work with educationalists to drive improving standards and enjoyment for learners.
