Head of Teaching School

Before becoming the Head of Teaching School, Kerri was Assistant Head at Bournville Primary School with the main responsibility of leading teaching and learning within the school. Since 2007, Kerri played an instrumental role in the development of the school culminating in it being graded as Outstanding in 2015 and becoming a national finalist in the DfE Pupil premium Awards 2015.

Over an extensive and varied 20+ year career in primary education, Kerri has taught in schools nationally, across four different local authorities, undertaking advisory work as well as in depth research into pedagogy.

Kerri’s many achievements at Bournville are reflected by the improvements in teaching through effective staff development. A specialist in Pedagogy, Kerri’s key areas of expertise also include: Curriculum Development, CPD, Assessment, M&E and Subject Leadership. Kerri is passionate about improving the quality of teaching to all primary aged children nationwide.

Over recent years Kerri has researched, designed, developed and implemented the “Better Learning” programme with the team to ensure best possible outcomes for pupils. Kerri has mentored numerous practitioners at all levels of their careers who have gone on to be successful in many specialisms and at various levels. She also has a wealth of experience in delivering training to individual colleagues bespoke to themselves and their school development plan.

An integral member of The BEACH Teaching School, Kerri is a trainer on the leadership programmes, works with leaders, teachers and support staff and your school to design bespoke CPD solutions. Working with our partners, Kerri continues to drive research and innovation.
