Adam is the CEO for the Extend Learning Academies Network; a multi-academy trust of North Somerset primary schools formed in 2017.
Prior to this, Adam was Headteacher at Bournville Primary School. Under his leadership, Bournville Primary School gained numerous awards including being a national finalist in the Pupil Premium Awards 2015 and a Lead School for Achievement for All. The school was rated outstanding by OFSTED in 2015, it is a National Teaching School, a member of the Extend Learning Academies Network and the Schools Co-operative Society.
Over the past 20+ years Adam has worked in urban, rural and multi cultural schools ranging in size from 44 to 680 pupils as a teacher, senior manager and head teacher. His core belief is that every setting is unique and that all developmental strategies should be bespoke to meet the challenges and use the strengths of that setting.
As a National (NLE) and Local Leader of Education (LLE), Adam has worked successfully with fellow head teachers and schools facilitating and assisting them on their journey, be that the short trip to good or the longer trek to outstanding. He is a keen advocate of a ‘support, challenge, coach’ approach, through which performance and accountability can be explored and developed. Over the last 12 years he has worked with local authorities, multi academy trusts and initial teacher training (ITT) providers developing management, teaching, learning and outcomes for learners. Adam is also chair of the North Somerset Learning Exchange, a trustee of charity XTND and an Ofsted inspector.
