Bournville Primary School is an outstanding school based in Weston-super-Mare. It was designated a National Teaching School in 2016.
A vibrant, busy and exciting school, the school was founded in 2008 and moved intoa purpose-built £9.7m project designed to meet the needs of the children and community in the 21st century. The school is situated in an area of high deprivation and works with its community to deliver high quality experiences and outcomes for all children. The school is passionate about the continual development of teaching and learning, delegation of leadership, independence and collaborative working to secure and extend excellence.
Bournville has been recognised and rewarded for much of its innovative and forward thinking hard work and in recent years has received many accolades including:
National Finalist in the 2015 Pupil Premium Awards
SSAT (Schools, Students and Teachers Network) Educational Outcomes Award (3 consecutive years
“Educational Outcomes data analysis from SSAT has shown that the school has enabled children to make progress in Reading, Writing and Maths which is significantly higher than the national average at Key Stage 2, and is among the top 10% across all schools nationally.”

Bournville is a founding member of the first Co-operative Education Trust in North Somerset, the Weston-super-Mare Education Trust, a trust of five schools in Weston: Bournville, Oldmixon, Milton Park, Walliscote and Windwhistle primary schools and continues to play an instrumental part in keeping the trust moving forward and innovative.
